The Flexistax series complements the Powerstax custom power range
and is specifically designed to meet the need of companies seeking
to reduce their time-to-market, lessen capital investment and minimise
the risk often associated with the outsourcing of their unique power
supply requirements.
The
Flexistax D1000, D950 and D750 are ideal for use in the telecoms,
automotive and industrial markets or any application where a rapid,
cost-effective and efficient custom solution for high power DC-DC
conversion is needed.
Prototypes
can be supplied in just 4 weeks from Powerstax’s own ISO9001
approved design, development and production facility at Farnborough,
Hants. UK. The Flexistax D750 is a 750W DC-DC power conversion system
developed specifically for applications where standard off-the–shelf
solutions do not exist. While the Flexistax D1000 provides a similar
specification at a higher power of 1000W and the D950 at 950W.
This
rapid design and delivery time is achieved by the experience, resources
and using a modular approach, centred on the the versatile Powerstax
F501 full brick DC-DC converters. |

Flexistax
950W DC-DC power solution

In
a highly efficient arrangement, two Powerstax, versatile F501 full
brick DC-DC converters of 500W were coupled with a custom 2 phase
boost converter and customer specified connectors. (see fig left)
to present a complete bespoke solution.
The
patented high efficiency topology and extremely flexible design
of the F501 dc-dc converter modules means that standard items can
be easily and quickly optimised for efficiency. This ensures a system
efficiency of 85% and a much lower level of heat dissipation, which
allows the open construction unit measuring 150mm x100mm with a
max height 25mm including connections (6in x 4in x1in) to be cold
wall mounted with no forced air cooling required.
The
standard Flexistax D950 and D750 have a wide and variable 11 - 36Vdc
input and a constant output between 12 and 48V. Utilising a simple,
custom developed boost converter integrated into the design provides
the boost in input voltage when conditions require.
The
Flexistax D950 is ideal for use in vehicle mounted applications,
the telecoms, automotive and industrial markets. |
